We spent years building hundreds of data solutions for companies ranging from Fortune 5 giants to $5M startups. We mastered Power BI. We loved the craft. And somewhere along the way, we discovered the uncomfortable truth nobody wanted to say out loud.

Three hard truths,
earned the hard way.

Excel was the real engine, and everyone knew it.

For all the sophistication of Power BI and Fabric, Excel remained the load-bearing wall of every data model we built. Powerful, flexible, familiar, and dangerously fragile. It was the tool nobody was allowed to question, and the one most likely to quietly break everything.

Power BI became a visualization tool, not a decision tool.

The dashboards were beautiful. The data was real. But when a leader walked into a room and asked a question that wasn't pre-baked into the report, the whole system stalled. Power BI showed the past. It couldn't shape the future.

The final mile was always a screenshot.

Despite years of automation, modeling, and beautiful design, the night before every big meeting, someone was still sitting at their desk at 11pm. Screenshot. Paste. Repeat. PowerPoint decks built from stale data. Business decisions made from digital fossils.

We kept building better dashboards while the real problem lived upstream: in processes, in trust gaps, in the unbearable distance between data and the people who needed to act on it. We decided to stop patching the symptom and fix the system.
